Review By John Rawstron

Beth Eliza

Beth Eliza is one of those emerging artists who can make a room feel instantly smaller, quieter and more intimate. This rising UK singer-songwriter has a remarkable ability to command an audience without relying on elaborate production or a full band — instead, she lets the songs, her guitar and her crystalline vocals do all the work.

Her stripped-back live performance is where her artistry really shines. There’s an effortless honesty to the way she delivers each song, with delicate guitar work providing the perfect foundation for a voice that can be both beautifully fragile and unexpectedly powerful. Every note feels purposeful, and there’s a wonderful sense that the audience is being invited directly into her world rather than simply watching a performance from a distance.

What makes Beth Eliza particularly captivating is the emotional clarity at the heart of her music. Her songs feel personal without becoming overly sentimental, and her understated performance style gives every lyric room to breathe. Moments of vulnerability sit alongside flashes of strength, creating a set that feels intimate, sincere and deeply engaging.

There’s also a confidence beneath the apparent simplicity of the performance. It takes real skill to hold an audience’s attention with so little between the artist and the listener, and Beth Eliza does exactly that. Her crystalline vocals remain the focal point throughout, while the guitar adds warmth, rhythm and just enough texture to let the songs unfold naturally.

For an emerging artist, there’s already a striking sense of identity here. Beth Eliza doesn’t need spectacle to make an impact; her greatest strength is the connection she creates through her songwriting and delivery. By the end of the set, it’s clear that she’s an artist with something genuine to say — and, more importantly, the voice and presence to make people stop and listen.

If this performance is anything to go by, Beth Eliza is an artist well worth keeping an eye on. Her intimate, beautifully crafted live sets showcase a songwriter with enormous promise, and there’s a real sense that she’s only just beginning to reveal what she can do.

Millie Kirkpatrick

Millie Kirkpatrick delivered one of the standout performances on the John Peel Stage at FOMO 2026, combining an impressive vocal presence with songwriting that felt both confident and genuinely personal. From the moment she stepped onto the stage, there was a clear sense of self-assurance. Kirkpatrick looked completely at home in front of the crowd, allowing her original material to take centre stage and letting the strength of her songwriting speak for itself.

Her vocals were particularly captivating, expressive and full of character, effortlessly carrying the emotional weight of her lyrics. What really made the performance memorable, though, was the chemistry between her voice and her songwriting. Her lyrics were strong and thoughtfully crafted, while the melodies had an immediate listenability that made the songs easy to connect with without sacrificing their individuality.

There was a natural fluidity to her delivery, with her vocals seemingly fluttering above the melodies and giving each song an added sense of movement and atmosphere.

Millie’s confidence never felt forced, instead, it enhanced the performance and drew attention to the quality of the material itself. She demonstrated that she is not simply a compelling vocalist, but an artist with a clear songwriting identity and plenty to say.

On a stage packed with emerging talent, Millie Kirkpatrick made a particularly strong impression. Her combination of assured performance, distinctive vocals, strong lyrics and memorable melodies marked her out as an artist well worth keeping an eye on. If this FOMO 2026 performance is anything to go by, Kirkpatrick has the talent and confidence to make a lasting impression well beyond the festival circuit.

Sam Milne & The Tyrants

There’s something incredibly exciting about discovering a young band who already sound like they have something important to say, and Sam Milne & The Tyrants are exactly that. Hailing from Ipswich and fronted by teenage singer-songwriter Sam Milne, the band are rapidly making a name for themselves across the East Anglian grassroots music scene — and it’s not difficult to understand why.

From the moment they hit the stage, The Tyrants bring an infectious sense of energy and urgency. Their sound is driven by huge, gritty guitar riffs, punchy rhythms and the kind of raw, unfiltered intensity that makes indie rock so thrilling in a live setting. There’s a real sense that this is a band who aren’t simply playing songs; they’re throwing themselves into every performance and dragging the audience along with them.

James Morgan & the Mutineers — FOMO Fest 2026

There are gigs where you watch a band play, and then there are gigs where you feel as though you’ve been swept up into their world. James Morgan & the Mutineers delivered very much the latter at FOMO Fest 2026, with the folk-punk singer-songwriter from “darkest Suffolk” turning the stage into a riotous, warm-hearted masterclass in storytelling, energy and full-band chemistry.

Morgan has the rare ability to make a room feel simultaneously enormous and intimate. His songs are packed with character, humour, heart and the kind of lived-in storytelling that makes every lyric feel like it belongs to somebody you might actually know. Yet on stage, those carefully crafted stories are anything but static. They come roaring to life, driven by a performance that refuses to sit still. Morgan throws himself into the songs with infectious enthusiasm, making every chorus feel bigger, every punchline land harder and every emotional turn hit with considerably more force than it might on record.

The folk-punk label feels particularly apt live. There’s a wonderfully scrappy, irreverent edge to the performance, but beneath it is an accomplished songwriter with a real instinct for narrative. Morgan understands that a great gig isn’t simply about playing songs well — it’s about taking an audience somewhere. Between the music, the anecdotes and the sheer force of his stage presence, he builds a world around each number and invites everyone in.

And then there are the Mutineers. The full-band arrangement gives Morgan’s songs an extra dimension, transforming them from intimate singer-songwriter pieces into something altogether more boisterous and celebratory. The chemistry between the musicians is palpable: they play with the looseness and spontaneity of a band having an absolute blast, while remaining tight enough to make the biggest moments really explode. Rather than simply accompanying Morgan, the Mutineers actively push and pull against him, giving the songs momentum, colour and a sense of joyful unpredictability.

That chemistry is arguably the secret weapon of the whole set. There’s a feeling that anything could happen, but also the confidence that everyone on stage knows exactly how to make it work. The result is a performance that feels organic rather than choreographed — exuberant, occasionally chaotic in the best possible way, and utterly committed.

By the end of the set, it was impossible not to be swept along. Morgan’s gift for turning personal observations and vivid characters into memorable songs, combined with the Mutineers’ muscular and mischievous musicianship, made for one of those festival performances that leaves you wanting to hear more immediately.

Retrofile

Taking the stage at Fomo Fest 2026, Canadian-born, London-based twin brothers Luke and Noah Martino arrived with plenty to celebrate. Fresh from the release of their debut album, Comfort In A Crowd, the pair are in the midst of an undeniably busy year — and their festival appearance felt like a thrilling snapshot of a band rapidly finding its feet and making its mark.

There was an immediate sense of occasion as the Martino brothers stepped onto the stage. With the momentum of their debut record behind them, they brought the kind of infectious energy that makes a festival set feel less like a performance and more like an invitation: come closer, get involved, and lose yourself in the music. Their appearance at Fomo Fest felt like another important milestone in what promises to be a hugely exciting chapter for the twins.

If Comfort In A Crowd announced Luke and Noah Martino as a band worth paying attention to, their Fomo Fest performance underlined exactly why. There’s a palpable sense that this is only the beginning — and catching them at this stage, as their profile continues to grow, made their set all the more exciting. For a pair already having such a packed year, they looked right at home on a festival stage, delivering a performance brimming with confidence, character and ambition.

The Martinos may be London-based now, but there’s a distinctly international story behind their rise: Canadian-born twins carving out their own space in the London music scene and now bringing that journey to a festival crowd. With their debut album providing the soundtrack to this next phase, Fomo Fest 2026 offered a perfect platform for the brothers to showcase just how far they have already come — and, perhaps more importantly, how much further they could go.

There’s something particularly exciting about seeing an emerging act at a moment when the trajectory is clearly pointing upwards. Luke and Noah Martino gave Fomo Fest exactly that feeling: the sense that you might be watching a band before the bigger stages, bigger crowds and bigger moments arrive. After a performance like this, Comfort In A Crowdfeels less like a debut and more like the opening chapter of something much bigger.

Sam Redmore

Sam Redmore absolutely lit up FOMO Fest with a soul-drenched live set that felt less like watching a gig and more like being pulled into a full-blown celebration of global dance music.

Taking the energy and instinctive groove of Redmore’s acclaimed DJ and production work and translating it into a powerful 7-to-9-piece live collective, the performance was a masterclass in keeping a crowd moving.

The sound was rich, rhythmic and gloriously unpredictable, effortlessly weaving together funk, soul, jazz, global rhythms and dancefloor energy into something that felt both deeply rooted and completely fresh. There was a real sense of spontaneity to the performance, with the expanded live lineup giving the music an infectious, organic quality that simply cannot be replicated from behind a DJ booth.

Every layer added to the atmosphere, building a huge, vibrant sound that swept across the festival crowd and had people dancing from start to finish.

Having already earned a reputation across the UK festival circuit with appearances at events such as Mostly Jazz, Funk & Soul and Shambala, Redmore clearly knows how to command a festival audience — and at FOMO Fest, that experience was on full display. The set was joyful, energetic and completely immersive, striking that rare balance between musicianship and pure dancefloor release.

This was genre-blending at its very best: soulful, adventurous, infectious and packed with enough groove to keep the entire crowd locked in. Redmore didn’t just bring a live show to FOMO Fest — they brought an atmosphere, a movement and a serious amount of soul.

The Kubricks

If there was one band at Fomo Fest 2026 capable of turning a crowd into a heaving, dancing mass within seconds, it was The Kubricks. From the moment they hit the stage, their performance was an exhilarating collision of classic ska, two-tone, reggae and irresistibly infectious pop — delivered with the kind of confidence and sheer physical energy that makes a great live band impossible to ignore.

The Kubricks have built a formidable reputation as a live act, and on the Fomo Fest stage it was easy to see exactly why. Their songs seemed to leap effortlessly from the speakers, propelled by infectious rhythms and an undeniable sense of momentum. There was no standing back and simply watching: the music demanded movement & the crowd showed just that, dancing along to every beat.

Coach Party

Coach Party hit the stage with a sense of high drama that immediately demanded attention, wasting no time before launching into their energetic set playing tracks from their album “Caramel”. From the very first notes, it was clear that this was a band intent on making an impression.

Front woman – Jess Eastwood was a magnetic presence at the centre of it all, resplendent in a short, furry coat and wearing an instantly infectious smile. There’s a wonderfully compelling contradiction to Eastwood’s performance: her vocals can sound beautifully sweet and inviting one moment, before revealing an undercurrent of barely contained fury.
